The Tenth House is the House of Prosperity or Hierarchy– one which draws its authority from both Saturn and the Capricorn sign. In this house, one learns that the world is fundamentally about using one’s freedom to achieve social mobility. Through the promise of wealth, one is able to accomplish the thing one wants. However, unlike the House of Wealth, this one deals with the natural consequence of accumulating wealth and living with honor: prosperity and social status.
The Tenth House exists because social status is a fundamental aspect of human connection. Your status opens doors and allows you to network with others. It also allows you to experience and do things that you would not be able to try without it. It keeps options open while allowing you to realize your full potential. In fact, your very status affords you the ability to realize your true potential. Unsurprisingly, therefore, there is a connection between this House and one’s management of finances and reputation.
Aside from status, however, it’s also a House that discusses your personal aspirations for the future. As we grow, we tend to have various needs that evolve as we age. Questions also start to pop up regarding your career choices. For example, you may be considering a career shift either because you want to try to realize a childhood dream, or because you are living the dream and want to try something else for a change. As the House of Prosperity, this House’s job is to ensure that you are able to decide on your path for the long-term by giving you sound advice on how to manage your life.
Lastly, it is also a House that advocates for a constant dialogue with other people. After all, status is not just about wealth itself. The proper treatment of others, as well as the spirit of discussion and dialogue, allows people to overcome their prejudice of others and actually increase their own status in others. Through it, you become a friend instead of an acquaintance. And through this House, you can hopefully become something more.
